چکیده

Aim To study whether a specific cognitive profile can be identified for children born extremely preterm (EPT) by investigating: 1) strengths and weaknesses not revealed Full-Scale IQ, 2) overlap between different deficits 3) proportion of EPT with multiple deficits. Methods We analysed data from the 4th version Wechsler Intelligence Scales Children in (n = 359) matched controls 367), collected within 6.5-year follow-up population-based prospective cohort study. Results Extremely performed worse than on all measures. Group differences were largest Perceptual Reasoning (PRI) Working Memory (WMI), but indices small. However, when conducting categorical analyses, PRI and/or WMI more common other combinations. Many had no or mild deficits, although often domains. Conclusion greater working memory perceptual abilities. detailed analyses subscales showed large heterogeneity provided support profile. In conclusion, IQ scores hide individual profiles need to considered order provide appropriate support.
